This is essentially what Shopkins’ toy line aims to show, as they take everyday groceries and show how cute they can be. There are many different types, and learning to draw Shopkins is a great way to create your unique variation. By this guide’s end, you’ll know exactly how to do it!
How to Draw Shopkins
Step 1
In this guide to drawing Shopkins, we’ll depict a minor cupcake character. However, this is just one way, and you can later use what you learn in this guide to design many more of your product characters. First, we’ll draw the “body” of this cupcake.
To do this, use a curved line with tapered sides to form a rounded square shape. Next, we’ll use wavy lines over this shape for the icing that will sit on top of the cupcake. The top of this icing will be empty for now, but we’ll fill it soon. Next, draw some subtle, rounded shapes from the sides of this shop’s handguns.
Step 2
To continue this Shopkins drawing, we will draw the face and some other details in this second step. Draw two relatively large circles in the body of the cupcake for the eyes. Next, draw some smaller circular shapes inside these eye outlines and add some lashes on the outside.
You can then use some small and simple lines for the nose, eyebrows, and mouth. Next, draw two tiny, stocky legs from the bottom of the shopkin and draw small bows on them. He will also hold a small stick with an apple on its end. Finally, draw some curvy lines in the icing, then add a rounded triangular shape that sticks out next to another loop.
Step 3
We’ll add even more icing for this third step of our how-to-draw shopkins guide. Draw more curved lines for the icing side.
We used small round and rectangular shapes for these patches, but feel free to use some other forms of your own! There are different ways to add this image as well. You can add some background details, add different accents or even change the theme to create a new Shopkins theme!
It would help if you moved inward as you drew, making the stack thinner as you go up. Then add more wavy lines inside for texture detail. Then we can move on to step 4 of the guide to continue adding this image.
Step 4
You are now ready to finish the outline for this Shopkins drawing as you complete the design. To do this, we’ll focus primarily on the top of the frosting that sits on top of the cupcake. Use curved lines for the sides and thin them out again as you move toward the top.
The tip of the glaze is pointed but slightly rounded. Then add more of those wavy texture lines to this last glaze area. Now that you’ve completed the pattern for this Shopkins drawing, it’s time to put the finishing touches on the next step of the tutorial.
Step 5
Before we get to the final step of this how-to-draw shopkins guide, we’ll make some final touches to bring this image to life. To do this, we’ll draw fun sprinkle shapes around this cupcake’s frost. These cupcakes take different forms.

We used small round and rectangular shapes for these patches, but feel free to use some other forms of your own! There are different ways to add this image as well. You can add some background details, add different accents or even change the theme to create a new Shopkins theme!
Step 6
In this final step of this Shopkins drawing, we just showed you one of the endless ways you can colorize your creation. In our example, we chose yellow for the shopkin body and blue for the glaze.

We then worked with some pinks for some patches and accessories for this shopkin. You can also choose these colors if you like them, but you can also use unique shades of your choice!
